Drug Discovery Research
At our Drug Discovery Research Center, we are dedicated to drug discovery research focused exclusively on siRNA therapeutics, a class of oligonucleotide therapeutics. In recent years, drug discovery has become increasingly challenging, and continuously generating innovative new medicines through in-house research has become a major challenge for many pharmaceutical companies. We believe that siRNA therapeutics hold the key to overcoming this challenge.
siRNA therapeutics enable the rapid design of highly active molecules based on the sequence information of target genes. Because a common drug discovery process can be applied across different targets, siRNA-based drug discovery can be pursued efficiently and with a high degree of reproducibility. Furthermore, siRNA therapeutics can address targets that are difficult to modulate with conventional small-molecule or antibody therapeutics, thereby significantly expanding the possibilities for drug discovery.
By developing proprietary technologies that maximize the potential of this powerful modality, and by using these technologies to continuously generate drug candidates for clinical development, we aim to become a "leading company in siRNA drug discovery".
Development
We have been successful every year in obtaining manufacturing and marketing approval by advancing clinical development of our developmental products on schedule. We are proactively working on challenging developments for rare intractable diseases and to establish usage and dosage for children.
