Purpose of Collection and Use of Personal Information

The Mochida Pharmaceutical Group uses personal information in the research & development, and other business activities of pharmaceuticals and healthcare products, etc. for the following purposes.

1. Purpose of collection and use of personal information about doctors, dentists, pharmacists, nurses and other medical workers as well as individuals working for medicine-and pharmaceutical science-related institutions and pharmacies

  • To provide and collect information about appropriate use of pharmaceuticals and other products
  • To provide and collect information about the quality, safety and efficacy of pharmaceuticals and other products
  • To implement and support surveys and research as well as scientific activities such as research associations and seminars in the fields of medicine and pharmaceutical science
  • To provide, collect and otherwise use medical information and scientific information
  • To operate websites, associations and other organizations sponsored or co-sponsored by the Mochida Pharmaceutical Group, as well as to authorize, contact and provide information to members
  • To request and implement activities such as clinical trials and post-marketing surveillance and to provide information related to such activities
  • To investigate and examine usage, utilization, needs and other trends of pharmaceuticals and other products and to respond to such trends
  • To grasp customers of pharmaceuticals and other products and maintain a network of contacts
  • To collect and provide information in the case of the recall of pharmaceuticals and other products or any other such event as well as to respond to any such event
  • To notify or report to government and other public agencies

2. Purpose of collection and use of personal information about users of the Mochida Pharmaceutical Group’s products and samples (includes mail order users)

  • To deliver products ordered by customers and to provide other services to customers
  • To send catalogues and product information to customers, to ask them to take part in questionnaire surveys and to inform them about events
  • To contact customers and make improvements including improving service content for greater customer convenience
  • To send publications such as company magazines and e-mail magazines
  • To conduct activities such as research associations, seminars, exhibitions and events in the field of healthcare field and provide information about them

3. Purpose of collection and use of personal information about users of Public Relations, Drug Information Center and other company contact points

  • To examine, investigate and respond to queries, requests for advice and inquiries
  • To send corporate communication materials such as the annual report and other materials
  • To send company information and other relevant material and to contact users
  • To examine, investigate and take action in order to confirm an individual’s identity
  • To contact and provide information to product manufacturers, sellers, medical workers and other users
  • To notify or report to government and other public agencies, participating organizations and other bodies

4. Purpose of collection and use of personal information about suppliers

  • To conduct negotiations, make contact, seek advice, conduct an examination, place or receive orders, make payment or take action in relation to transactions
  • To give or receive goods or services based on transactions
  • To provide, collect and convey information mainly about the Mochida Pharmaceutical Group’s products

5. Purpose of collection and use of personal information about related neighboring parties, landowners, voluntary groups and other stakeholders

  • To make contact, seek advice, conduct an examination or negotiations, provide information, give or receive distributed material and take action related to public relations
  • To undertake collaborative work and to make contact, seek advice, conduct an examination, provide information and give or receive distributed material associated with such collaborative work

6. Purpose of collection and use of personal information about shareholders

  • To take action for the fulfilment of legal obligations and the exercise of rights
  • To send business reports and other distributed material and to make contact
  • To take action on matters provided for by law
  • To conduct investigations and analysis in relation to shareholders

7. Purpose of collection and use of personal information about job applicants

  • To examine and decide whether or not to hire them and to notify or contact them accordingly
  • To provide corporate information about the Mochida Pharmaceutical Group, recruitment information and other information and contact them about various other relevant matters
  • To provide information for determining residence and contact them about preparations for joining the company, meetings and other relevant matters

8. Purpose of collection and use of personal information about visitors to Mochida Pharmaceutical Group facilities

  • To take appropriate action upon entry to the facility
  • To manage access to facilities

9. Purpose of collection and use of personal information about officers, employees and friends of the Mochida Pharmaceutical Group, those who have retired from the Mochida Pharmaceutical Group as well as the family members of the foregoing

  • To make contact and use in relation to business operations, manage labor affairs including attendance, pay of salary, personnel affairs, performance evaluation, skills development, welfare, safety and health, and otherwise fulfil obligations set out in labor-related laws and regulations, tax-related laws and regulations and social welfare-related laws and regulations
  • To deal with, perform and manage various procedures set out in internal regulations
  • To contact and provide to labor unions, social societies (mutual aid associations), health insurance associations, corporate pensions, shareholding associations and group companies
  • To send internal newsletters and other distributed material and to make contact in an emergency
  • To make contact and send distributed materials in connection with friendship activities such as reunion parties
  • To notify or report to government and other public agencies, participating organizations and other bodies
