(Tokyo, August 24, 2004) Mochida Healthcare Co., Ltd. (President: Naoteru Kashiwa) will launch, on September 1st, its scalp-care shampoo Collage Furfur for dandruff and itchy scalp, and a hair care conditioner Collage Furfur Rinse - along with a new package design.
The cause of dandruff (furfur) is closely associated with fungi - a normal inhabitant of the human scalp. Collage Furfur is Japan's first medical shampoo containing an antimycotic agent, miconazole nitrate. A monitoring survey showed that 87.4% of users found it effective for dandruff, which can be problematic during autumn and winter. Those who are concerned about dandruff and itchy scalp are recommended to focus on cleaning the scalp (rather than just the hair), using the shampoo to wash away dandruff-causing fungi.
Collage Furfur's package design has been changed to better meet the needs of users. The innovative ForeFinger font - developed for both tactile reading and easier visual recognition - is seeing its first commercial product use in Japan, with katakana-based fonts. The shampoo and conditioner bottles employ a universal design that is easily distinguishable in the bathroom.
