New Collage S Series Cosmetics Line Set for Release
Evolved from Standard Collage Series For Sensitive and Dry Skin

(Tokyo, August 20, 2003) Mochida Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (President: Naoyuki Mochida) is set to release 11 new or redeveloped basic skin care products in its Collage S Series product lineup, beginning September 1st. These new products have been developed with special emphasis on moisturization and a mild, smooth feel in use, which are key factors for users with sensitive skin.

Twenty-three years ago, Mochida Pharmaceutical released its innovative Collage Series - the first basic skin care products containing water-soluble collagen based on a concept of non-irritating, fragrance-free, and coloring agent-free ingredients. Since then, having conducted an entire spectrum of dermatological research, from patch tests for sensitive or dry skin all the way to clinical trials, Mochida Pharmaceutical has successfully developed its new Collage S Series, containing "trimethylglycine", a moisturizer offering better water retention than water-soluble collagen.

It is said that many women today suffer from sensitive and dry skin caused by the functional decline of the stratum corneum due to dehydrating air conditioners, ultraviolet radiation, weariness, or mental stress.

Trimethylglycine, a natural amino-acid moisturizer extracted from beetroot, keeps the skin moist and glowing. This special moisturizer also gives the Collage S Series long-time moisture-retaining properties, and a light and non-greasy feeling that is easy on the skin.

The Collage S Series includes 11 products in total: Four in the "Basic Series" for hydrating sensitive skin; four in the "Gold Series" for dry, sensitive skin due to age or seasonal changes; one cleansing cream; and two skin cream products with special protection against ultraviolet rays.

This new lineup represents the Collage series' first complete redevelopment in 10 years, bringing a new type of "moist feeling" to users.
