Mochida Pharmaceutical Announces　ISO 14001 Environmental Certification for Otawara Plant
(Tokyo, April 2, 2002) Mochida Pharmaceutical announced today that on 25 March 2002 the environment management system at its Otawara plant in Otawara City, Tochigi Prefecture, was awarded ISO 14001 certification. JCQA (Japan Chemical Quality Assurance Ltd) was the registrar for certification.
Activities at the Otawara plant aimed at obtaining certification commenced in April 2001. The plant's environment management system was built on the company's philosophy of working proactively for the preservation of the global environment and promoting such efforts continuously to bring about true wellbeing from its position as a comprehensive healthcare company contributing to human health and welfare. This ISO 14001 certification reflects the plant's commitment to energy savings and the reduction of waste.
The company plans to continue taking up the important challenge it has set itself of working proactively to preserve the global environment.
